With global temperature changes and rising sea levels, the Toronto Islands are at risk. The depletion of natural sponge environments along shore lines has created an environment vulnerable to flooding. To mitigate these natural disasters a new boardwalk is being proposed, one that separates people from a restored wetland ecosystem.
