︎︎︎Lifeless Form I

︎︎︎Hand Sewing

A cathardic indulgence in the craft of hand sewing; ‘Lifeless Form I’ is an act of intense self-reflection and analysis. The soft sculpture, with exact body measurements, is symbolic of the numbing and monotonous process of existing and feeling the pressure to actively contribute and participate in the ever-evolving society. In the photo series, an effort to portray the needed comfort and moments of solitude (being with oneself) is referenced while also appreciating the beauty of the human form and the inherent tactility and need for physical contact that is a part of the human experience.

Crafted entirely out of recycled materials, the sculpture is an implication of the ability of craft an ethos to change the nature and story of material culture, while remaining deeply rooted in introspection and (often neglected) act of appreciating oneself and ones own physical form.
